Late season blooming SINGLE to SEMI-DOUBLE flowers are pink, 15-17 cm (~5.9-6.75”) in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. Guard petals are ruffled, notched, and are typically 5.4 cm (2.1”) in width. Purple flares with blurred edges emanate from flower center and transcend approximately 20% of overall petal length. Fragrant. On average, flowers carry eleven yellowish-green, moderately hairy carpels. Stigmas are reddish-purple, and of normal anatomy. Stamens are between 1.25-2 cm (0.5-0.75”) in length, with reddish-purple filaments that fade to white at the tips. Sheath is complete; reddish-purple in color. Fertile both ways. Plants reach 77 cm (30.25”) at maturity, and carry broadly-cut, green foliage. Growth habit is upright. Name romanized is Dān xiá hóng, roughly translating to “Danxia Red”.
