Mid-late season blooming SEMI-DOUBLE flowers are purplish-pink, 18-21 cm (7-8.25”) in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. Guard petals are ruffled, notched, and are typically 7.2 cm (3”) in width. Darker pink coloration emanates somewhat from the flower center. Fragrant. On average, flowers carry eight yellow-green, moderately hairy carpels. Stigmas are reddish-purple, and of normal anatomy. Stamens are more than 2 cm (0.75”) in length, with reddish-purple filaments that fade to white at the tips. Sheath is complete; reddish-purple in color. Fertile both ways. Plants reach 123 cm (48.5”) at maturity, and carry broadly-cut, green foliage. Growth habit is upright. Name romanized is Chūnshān Zǐ, roughly translating to “spring mountain purple”.
