Parentage: P. cathayana x P. ostii. ‘Feng Dan Bai’ x P. qiui. First bloom unknown, first propagated 2022. Mid-late season blooming SEMI-DOUBLE flowers are pink, with a lighter white color at flower center. Flowers are 16-19 cm (6.3-7.5”) in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. Guard petals are rounded, notched, and are typically 6.4 cm (2.5”) in width. Fragrant. On average, flowers carry seven yellow-green, moderately hairy carpels. Stigmas are dark pink, and of normal anatomy. Stamens are between 1.25-2 cm (0.5-0.75”) in length, with pink filaments that fade to white at the tips. Sheath is complete; reddish-purple in color. Fertile both ways. Plants reach 116 cm (46”) at maturity, and carry broadly-cut, light-green foliage. Growth habit is upright. Name romanized is “Hànguāng No.1”.
