Parentage: P. rockii x P. rockii. ‘Feng Dan Bai’ x P. qiui. First bloom unknown, first propagated 2022. First bloomed 2011, first propagated 2011. Early-midseason blooming SINGLE flowers are reddish-purple, 14-16 cm (5.5-6.3”) in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. Guard petals are ruffled, notched, and are typically 6 cm (2.4”) in width. Purple flares with blurred edges emanate from flower center and transcend approximately 20% of overall petal length. Fragrant. On average, flowers carry five yellow-green, moderately hairy carpels. Stigmas are deep purplish-pink, and of normal anatomy. Stamens are more than 2 cm (0.75”) in length, with reddish-purple filaments that fade to white at the tips. Sheath is complete; reddish-purple in color. Fertile both ways. Plants reach 104 cm (41”) at maturity, and carry broadly-cut, green foliage. Growth habit is upright. Name romanized is Hàn hóng No.1.
