Parentage: P. cathayana x P. ostii. First bloom unknown, first propagated 2022. Midseason blooming SINGLE to SEMI-DOUBLE flowers are white with shades of pink, 15 cm (6.75”) in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. Guard petals are ruffled, notched, twisted, and are typically 6.4 cm (2.5”) in width. Purple flares emanate from flower center and transcend approximately 25% of overall petal length. Fragrant. On average, flowers carry eight yellowish-green, moderately hairy carpels. Stigmas are reddish-purple, and of normal anatomy. Stamens are between 1.25-2 cm (0.5-0.75”) in length, with reddish-purple filaments that fade to white at the tips. Sheath is complete; reddish-purple in color. Fertile both ways. Plants reach 85 cm (33.5”) at maturity, and carry broadly-cut, green foliage. Growth habit is upright. Name romanized is Qióng yù fèng yǎn, roughly translating to “bejeweled phoenix eyes”
