粉妆玉波 / Fěn zhuāng yù bō

Mid-late season blooming SINGLE to SEMI-DOUBLE flowers are pink, 13-16 cm (~5.1-6.3”) in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. Guard petals are rounded, notched, and are typically 6 cm (2.4”) in width. Fragrant. On average, flowers carry six yellowish-green, moderately hairy carpels. Stigmas are reddish-purple, and of normal anatomy. Stamens are between 1.25-2 cm (0.5-0.75”) in length, with reddish-purple filaments that fade to white at the tips. Sheath is complete; reddish-purple in color. Fertile both ways. Plants reach 76 cm (30”) at maturity, and carry broadly-cut, green foliage. Growth habit is upright. Name romanized is Fěn zhuāng yù bō, roughly translating to “white powder and jade wave”.
