Mid-late season blooming SINGLE to SEMI-DOUBLE flowers are pinkish purple, 15-16 cm (~6”) in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. Guard petals are twisted, ruffled, notched, and are typically 7 cm (2.75”) in width. Purple flares emanate from flower center and transcend approximately 35% of overall petal length. Fragrant. On average, flowers carry eight yellowish-green, moderately hairy carpels. Stigmas are reddish-purple, and of normal anatomy. Stamens are between 1.25-2 cm (0.5-0.75”) in length, with reddish-purple filaments. Sheath is complete; reddish-purple in color. Fertile both ways. Plants reach 70 cm (27.5”) at maturity, and carry broadly-cut, green foliage. Growth habit is upright. Name romanized is Fěn Zhuāng Yù Zhuó, roughly translating to “powder makeup and jade”.
