Peony Registry

Seedling number: 9-10×13. Parentage: Seedling SG16 x ‘Lemon Chiffon’. First bloomed 2015, first propagated 2015. Early to early midseason blooming DOUBLE flowers are pink, 14 cm (5.5”) in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. Guard petals are cupped, rounded, ruffled, notched, and are typically 5 cm (2”) in width. Very fragrant. Two tomentose, light-green carpels carry pink stigmas of normal anatomy. Stamens are less than 1.25 cm (0.5”) in length, with filaments that are uniformly yellow in color. Produces pollen; seed fertility noted. Staminodes are present, and are both linear and spatulate in structure. Disk is apparent with few projections, and pale pink in color. Leaflets are broad-pointed, and green in color. Plants reach 66 cm (26”) at maturity. Growth habit is upright; mechanical support is unnecessary.
