Peony Registry

Seedling number: 73-68. Parentage: ‘Fantasia’ x ‘Lavender Whisper’. First bloomed 2016, first propagated 2016. Very early to early blooming SEMI-DOUBLE flowers are lavender, 15.25 cm (6”) in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. Guard petals are cupped, rounded, ruffled, notched, and are typically 5 cm (2”) in width. Fragrant. Two tomentose carpels are cream-colored, and carry pink stigmas of normal anatomy. Stamens are less than 1.25 cm (0.5”) in length, with filaments that are pink transitioning to yellow at the tips. Produces pollen; seed fertility has not been noted to date. Disk is apparent with few projections; pink in color. Leaflets are broad-pointed, and green in color. Plants reach 71 cm (28”) at maturity. Growth habit is upright; mechanical support is unnecessary.
