Back to RegistrySeedling number: 9-17. Parentage: Seedling SG16 x ‘Red Lacquer’. First bloomed 2016, first propagated 2016. Early blooming SEMI-DOUBLE flowers are raspberry red, 12.7 cm (5.5”) in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. Guard petals are rounded, ruffled, notched, and are typically 5 cm (2”) in width. Fragrant. Three tomentose carpels are cream-colored, and carry pink stigmas of normal anatomy. Stamens are less than 1.25 cm (0.5”) in length, with pink filaments that transition to yellow at the tips. Produces pollen, and occasionally seeds. Occasionally flowers possess oblanceolate staminodes identical in color to the surrounding petalage. Disk is apparent with few projections, and is pink in color. Leaflets are broad-pointed, and green in color. Plants reach 81.25 cm (32”) at maturity. Growth habit is upright; mechanical support is unnecessary.
