Seedling number TP2 14-102. Advanced generation herbaceous hybrid with various seedlings of Simmons’ origination in its background. First bloomed 2014, first propagated 2021. Mid-late season blooming DOUBLE flowers are a romantic soft apricot-cream color. Pleasing hints of gold and pink are apparent within the light yellow coloration. Flowers are 15 cm (6”) in diameter, upward facing, and average three to four per stem. Apparent flares are a light plum-pink color, and transcend approximately 30% of overall petal length. Guard petals are rounded, and are typically 6.5 cm (2.5”) in width. No fragrance. Two moderately hairy carpels are light-green in color. Stigmas are plum-red in color, and are of normal anatomy. Stamens are more than 2 cm (0.75”) in length, with filaments that are uniformly yellow in color. Fertile both ways. Leaflets are broad-pointed, and green in color. Foliage at the time of emergence is red. Plants reach 90 cm (35.5”) at maturity. Growth habit is upright; mechanical support is unnecessary. A lovely color, it is difficult to photograph accurately. Seems to be a good candidate for cutting, with nice buds. Flowers about two weeks after the first ‘Red Charm’ blossom.
