ANEMONE flower form, average 3 blooms per stem, 6? inches in size (17½ cm). Guard petals pink, rounded, shallowly cupped, edges shallowly crenulated, 1 inch in width (2.5 cm). Petaloids at center ivory, flushed pink, notched and frilly. Stamens absent. Carpels 5 in number, green, sparsely hairy. Stigmas yellow, normal anatomy, fertile. Staminodal disc incomplete, consists of a few projections. Fragrant. Typical lactiflora foliage, green, flushed purplish when young. Upright growth to 31 inches (78¾ cm). Mechanical support not needed, thus very suitable for garden display. Named for the center ball of petaloids resembling a pearl resting on a shell of pink.
