Seedling number 1-7-1. Parentage not given. First bloomed 2013, first propagated 2016. Early blooming DOUBLE flowers are red, 15cm (6”) in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. Guard petals are frilled. Fragrance noted. Flowers possess on average four moderately hairy, green carpels with pink stigmas of normal anatomy. Stamens are more than 2cm (0.75”) in length. Fertile both ways. Plants reach 85cm (33.5”) at maturity, and carry broadly pointed, green foliage with undertones of purple. Growth habit is upright and does not require mechanical support. Named for the professional officers of the Imperial Roman army that commanded one hundred men (a century), comprising about 80 legionaries and about 20 servants and orderlies.
