Seedling # KRT 93-4. Parentage unknown. First bloomed and propagated 1993. SINGLE. Double row of guard petals on orange-red flowers borne one to a stem, up facing, 4-5 inches wide, with rounded petals and a cupped form. No fragrance. Generally 4 carpels, smooth, flesh colored, having flesh colored stigmas. Stamens are flesh pink at base, fading towards the tip. May be fertile. Early bloom season. Upright growth with clean, bright green, nicely notched foliage. Mature height 24-26 inches. The bright flower color makes this peony stand out. This, combined with below average height and good stature makes for a choice garden peony.
