Coral Dream
Back to RegistryParentage unknown. First bloomed 2006, first propagated 2009. Cultivar has been previously distributed under the name “Coral Dream”. Midseason blooming BOMB flowers are coral-pink, 14 cm (5.5”) in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. Guard petals are typically 4 cm (1.6”) in width, rounded and lightly notched. Very mild fragrance. Four to six moderately hairy carpels are green, and carry red stigmas of feathered anatomy. No apparent stamens – the structures are fully transformed to petalage. No fertility noted. Disk is obscure. Leaflets are broad-pointed, and green in color. Foliage at the time of emergence is green and shiny, with a purple margin, the underside being entirely purple in color. Plants reach 110 cm (43”) at maturity. Growth habit is upright, but does benefit from mechanical support.
