Country Artist
Back to RegistryParentage: ‘Mons. Jules Elie’ x ‘Miss America’. First bloomed 2019, first propagated 2021. Midseason blooming ANEMONE flowers are purplish-pink, 12-15cm (4.75-6”) in diameter, upward facing, and average three per stem. Fragrant. Guard petals are rounded and flat, and average 5cm (2”) in width. On average, flowers present six smooth, green carpels, with cream-yellow stigmas of normal anatomy. Oblanceolate petalodes are present, and cream-yellow in color. Seed fertile. Cream-yellow staminodal disk is well-developed, and complete. Plants reach 90cm (35.5”) at maturity, and carry narrow-pointed, green foliage. Foliage color at time of emergence is reddish-green. Growth habit is upright, and mechanical support is unnecessary. Named ‘Country Artist’ for the flower form; a novelty, especially the inner petals, clustered together like a winter fire, like seaweed in the water, dynamic and artistic. The word “country” comes from our partner company, and we will name the cultivars we have bred together as the “country series”.
