Country Bubble
Back to RegistryParentage: ‘Mons. Jules Elie’ x ‘Miss America’. First bloomed 2019, first propagated 2021. Mid-late season blooming JAPANESE flowers are pink, 12cm (4.75”) in diameter, upward facing, and average three per stem. Fragrant. Guard petals are notched and flat, and average 5cm (2”) in width. On average, flowers present three to four smooth, green carpels, with cream-yellow stigmas of normal anatomy. Staminodes are yellow in color, and linear – stamens in the earliest stages of transformation. Seed fertile. Yellow staminodal disk is apparent with few projections. Plants reach 80cm (31.5”) at maturity, and carry narrow-pointed, green foliage. Foliage color at time of emergence is reddish-green. Growth habit is upright, and mechanical support is unnecessary. Named ‘Country Bubble’ for the flower form; the outer two rows of petals are flat, and the inner golden staminodes gather together like golden bubbles – a very lovely presentation. The word “country” comes from our partner company, and we will name the cultivars we have bred together as the “country series”.
