Sibling to Walter Mains. 28-30 inches. 6-7 inch blossom held on strong stems above a compact plant having glossy medium green foliage. A strong and vigorous grower. This showy officinalis hybrid is an unusual color best described as purplish red (RHS 67A) being nearest its actual coloration. The single row of petals forming a flat collar is set off by a bomb-like center of stamenoides, which are edged in bright yellow. Its color holds well until petal drop lightening only slightly. Fragrant. Blooms early mid-season. Seedling # 18D.
