Seedling number P202201-03. Parentage: ‘Feng Dan Bai’ x “Guan Shi Mo Yu” . First bloomed 2020, first propagated 2022. Midseason blooming SINGLE flowers are light pink fading to white at petal margins. Flowers are 17.7 cm (7”) in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. Guard petals are frilled, notched, and are typically 7.25 cm (2.8”) in width. Dark pink, blurred flares radiate from flower center and transcend approximately 20% of the overall petal length. On average, flowers carry five greenish-yellow, hairy carpels. Stigmas are purple-violet, and of normal anatomy. Stamens are more than 2 cm (0.75”) in length, with purple filaments that transition to pink at the tips. Fertile both ways. Sheath is complete; purple-violet in color. Plants reach 91 cm (36”) at maturity, and carry green, narrow-pointed foliage. Growth habit is upright. In the name, “Danfen” refers to the pink color of the flower, while “Yuyun” is an extension of the jade-like texture found in “Guan Shi Mo Yu”. It also implies that this new variety is as precious as jade, and possesses an elegant charm.
