Seedling number TP2 26-31. Parentage: ‘Seidl’s Super’ x 27-68 (‘Old Faithful’ x ‘Lemon Chiffon’). Very late blooming DOUBLE flowers are pink with a light ivory-peach background. Fine pink spots are apparent upon opening, suggesting a predominantly pink visage, with outer petals exhibiting less of this pink color and petal margins appearing beige-yellow giving an overall effect of a beautiful frosted glow. As the flower ages, this pink coloration fades in varying degrees. Flowers are up to 18 cm (7”) in diameter, upward facing, and average one to two per stem. Guard petals are flat, rounded, and lightly ruffled. No fragrance. Four sparsely hairy carpels are green in color, and quite small in size. Stigmas are pinkish-red and of normal anatomy. Stamens are between 1.25-2 cm (0.5-0.75”) in length, with filaments that are uniformly light-yellow in color. Produces pollen; no seed fertility noted. Leaflets are broad-pointed, and green in color. Plants reach 90 cm (35.5”) at maturity. Growth habit is spreading, and does benefit from mechanical support. Particularly beautiful as a cut flower, and received third overall at Christchurch Peony Club 2024 Annual Flower Show. Named for the registrant’s wife.
