Seedling number FA028. Parentage unknown. First bloomed 2014, first propagated 2016. Late season blooming SEMI-DOUBLE flowers are an intense pink that goes through several successive stages of color change, ultimately transitioning to white with a touch of pink. Occasionally, the dark pink center remains through the entire transformation. Flowers are 17 cm (6.7”) in diameter, upward facing, and average one to six per stem. Guard petals are cupped, rounded, notched, and average 6 cm (2.4”) in width. Petals narrow and shorten toward the center, and are arranged in several layers. These inner petals are fancifully twisted and cut. Fragrant. Zero to three smooth carpels are green, and carry white stigmas. Stamens are less than 1.25 cm (0.5”), with yellow filaments. Produces pollen; no seed fertility. Disk is obscure. Plants reach 110 cm (44”) at maturity, and carry narrow-pointed, green foliage. Foliage at the time of emergence is nutty-gold in color, with fiery tips. Gradually, the centers of the leaves turn green, and when the buds are already high, they remain brownish for a long time. When in bloom, the foliage finally becomes a dark green, and remains so until the end of the growing season. Growth habit is upright; mechanical support is generally unnecessary, but may prove beneficial in unfavorable conditions.
