Seedling number B-6. Parentage: ‘Bartzella’ x Roger Anderson Seedling #Y158. First bloomed 2020, first propagated 2023. Late midseason blooming DOUBLE flowers are 17 cm (6.5”) in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. Color is golden yellow with a lemony touch. Guard petals are almost flat, oblong, with tips slightly elongated, a little ruffled, and up to 7.6 cm (3”) in width. The scent is vaguely reminiscent of Paeonia lutea. Only a few stamens and little pollen. Filaments and anthers each 2 cm (0.75”) in length, broadened up to 2.5 mm (0.1”), pale yellow, pollen bearing edges are yellow. Three to four carpels, fluted, partly deformed, medium green, smooth, stigmas white. Sheath missing or few projections. No fertility noted to date of registration. Plants reach up to 65 cm (25.5”) at maturity, and carry narrow-pointed green foliage. Foliage at time of emergence is copper colored. Growth habit is upright, and does not require mechanical support. Named in memory of the originator’s father, who died when the former was eight years old, but still sparked many interests in him, including a passion for plants and gardening.
