Parentage: ‘Illini Warrior’ x ‘Pastelegance’. First bloomed 2023, first propagated 2023. Early-midseason blooming SEMI-DOUBLE flowers are pink, 10 cm (4”) in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. As the flowers age, they eventually turn white. Guard petals are flat, rounded, and average 3 cm (1.2”) in width. Fragrant. Four sparsely hairy carpels are green, and carry pink stigmas of normal anatomy. Stamens are less than 1.25 cm (0.5”) in length, with uniformly yellow filaments. Fertile both ways. Disk is apparent with few projections, and is pink in color. Plants reach 60 cm (23.6”) at maturity, and carry narrow-pointed, green foliage. Foliage at the time of emergence is a reddish-green. Growth habit is upright; mechanical support is unnecessary. The name means “pink candy”, for the flower color; pink and bright, like lovely fruity candies.
