Seedling number P202202-01. Parentage: ‘Feng Dan Bai’ x “Hua Wang” . First bloomed 2019, first propagated 2022. Early midseason blooming SEMI-DOUBLE flowers are pink with a red-purple halo at the base. Flowers are 19.4 cm (7.6”) in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. Guard petals are frilled, notched, and are typically 7.15 cm (2.8”) in width. Fragrance noted. On average, flowers carry nine greenish-yellow, tomentose carpels. Stigmas are reddish-purple, and of normal anatomy. Stamens are more than 2 cm (0.75”) in length, with purple filaments that transition to pink at the tips. Fertile both ways. Sheath is complete; red-purple in color. Plants reach about 84 cm (33”) at maturity, and carry yellow-green, broad-pointed foliage. Growth habit is upright. The name emphasizes both the pink charm of this new peony variety and its dual advantages as both an ornamental and as an oil-producing plant.
