Midseason blooming SINGLE to SEMI-DOUBLE flowers are light pink, 13 cm (5.1”) in diameter, upward facing, and average three per stem. Guard petals are flat, notched, and are typically 3 cm (1.2”) in width. Fragrance noted. On average, flowers carry five sparsely hairy, yellow-green carpels with pinkish-purple stigmas of normal anatomy. Stamens are between 1.25-2 cm (0.5-0.75”) in length, with yellow filaments. Fertile both ways. Plants reach 70 cm (27.5”) at maturity, and carry narrow-pointed, green foliage. Foliage at the time of emergence is reddish-green. Growth habit is upright; mechanical support is unnecessary. “He” represents the location of Heze, and “Shao” stands for herbaceous peony (Shaoyao in Chinese). Herbaceous peonies bred by the registrants are named “HeShao”, and numbered in order.
