Back to RegistrySeedling number AT#25, UM x BTB #7. Parentage: Unknown Suffruticosa x ‘Baron Thyssen Bornemisza’. First bloom 2016, first propagated 2018. Very early blooming SINGLE flowers are a warm lavender / fuchsia color, are 20.3 cm (8”) in diameter, outward facing, and average one per stem. Guard petals are ruffled, rounded, and are typically 12.7-15.25 cm (5-6”) in width. Petals become more ruffled on margins as flowers age. Dark purple flares with blurred and feathered edges emanate from flower center and transcend approximately 30% of overall petal length. Fragrant. On average, flowers carry five light-green, smooth carpels. Stigmas are dark red, and of normal anatomy. Stamens are more than 2 cm (0.75”) in length, with cream-pink filaments that fade to cream at the tips. Sheath is complete; dark magenta in color. Fertile both ways. Plants reach 122 cm (48”) at maturity, and carry broadly-cut, green foliage. Stems are red. Foliage at time of emergence is an orange-ish red/green. Growth habit is upright.
