Peony Registry

Seedling number MP6-36. Parentage: ‘Marilla Beauty’ x unknown. First bloomed 2009, first propagated 2014. Very late blooming DOUBLE flowers are white with shades of blush, 16 cm (6.3”) in diameter, upward facing, and average one to two per stem. Guard petals are rounded, and are typically 5 cm (2”) in width. Fragrant. No carpels or stamens; thereby infertile. Plants reach 85 cm (33.5”) at maturity, and carry finely-cut, green foliage. Growth habit is spreading, and benefits from mechanical support. Imant Ridaliste (1919-1987) was an Elva flower grower with one of Estonia’s largest collections of rock garden plants in the 1980’s.
