Back to RegistrySeedling number 35xREF #5. Parentage: Seidl #35 x ‘Rosalind Elsie Franklin’. First bloomed 2014, first propagated 2017. Previously distributed under the name “Lasting Beauty”. Early blooming SINGLE flowers open light pink, maturing to cream with a throat of dark magenta. Flowers are 16.5-20.3 cm (6.5-8″) in diameter, outward facing (occasionally hidden), and average one to two per stem. Dark purple-red flares with bleeding edges radiate from flower center and transcend approximately 35% of overall petal length. No fragrance noted. Guard petals are cupped, notched, recurved, and are typically 6.35 cm (2.5”) in width. On average, flowers possess four light-green carpels. Stigmas are light-red, and of normal anatomy. Filaments are moderate purple-red, transitioning to yellow at their tips. Produces pollen; seed fertility has not been noted. Sheath is partial, and moderate purple-red in color. Plants reach about 122 cm (48″) at maturity, and carry broadly cut, green foliage with purple margins. Foliage on emergence is reddish-green in color. The abundant large blossoms are held nicely for viewing on attractive foliage. Grown from seed received from Bill Seidl.
