Double type; very large; late midseason. Outer petals very large and ruffled, set edgeways to accommodate the great number of crowded center petals arranged in whorls; deep even rose-pink, suffused by chamois from the base of the petals; very fine fragrance. Tall; vigorous; strong, stiff stems. Excellent foliage. “This is one of the very largest peonies and gave me a greater thrill than any other of all the new varieties observed.”—Stevens. “Almost identical with VISCOUNTESS FOLKESTONE as disseminated by Farr.” —Thurlow. “A large, globular flower of medium pink color; remarkable show flower.”—Little. “A beautiful shade of pink, and should rate about 9.0.”—Boyd.
