Parentage: P. rockii x “Tai Yang”. First bloomed 2016, first propagated 2017. Midseason blooming SEMI-DOUBLE flowers are white, 9.5 cm (3.75”) in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. Guard petals are flat, and are typically 6.2 cm (2.5”) in width. Fragrance noted. Seven tomentose, light-green carpels carry pink stigmas of normal anatomy. Stamens are more than 2 cm (0.75”) in length, with filaments that are uniformly pink in color. Fertile both ways. Sheath is partial; white-yellow in color. Plants reach about 75 cm (29.5”) at maturity, and carry narrow-pointed, green foliage. Growth habit is upright. Good resistance to cold and drought. The two words “nong yuan” not only represent the gorgeous flower, but also refer to the agriculture; the specific meaning of the name implies that the flower is like a white lotus.
