First bloomed 2015, first propagated 2016. Midseason blooming SEMI-DOUBLE flowers are pink, 9 cm (3.7”) in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. Guard petals are twisted, cupped, ruffled, and are typically 5.7 cm (2.25”) in width. Fragrance noted. Five moderately hairy, light-green carpels carry yellow-orange stigmas of normal anatomy. Stamens are between 1.25-2 cm (0.5-0.75”) in length, with filaments that are uniformly pink in color. Fertile both ways. Sheath is complete, and reddish-purple in color. Plants reach about 80 cm (31.5”) at maturity, and carry narrow-pointed, yellow-green foliage. Growth habit is spreading. Good resistance to cold and drought. The two words “nong yuan” not only represent the gorgeous flower, but also refer to the agriculture; the specific meaning of the name implies that the flower is the color of peaches.
