Parentage: Free pollination of P. caucasica “Early Caucasian” x P. russi. First bloomed 2019, first propagated 2023. Very early blooming SINGLE flowers are yellowish-green with a distinct pink picotee edge. Flowers are 14 cm (5.5”) in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. Guard petals are flat, and typically 5.5 cm (2.16”) in width. Malodorous. On average, flowers possess two to three moderately hairy carpels that are purple in color; hairs yellowish-green and distinct over the darker purple color. Stigmas are a greyed-orange color and of normal anatomy. Stamens are more than 2 cm (0.75”) in length, with reddish-purple filaments. Produces both pollen and seeds. Disk is well-developed and complete. Plants reach 68 cm (27”) at maturity, and carry broad-blunt, yellow-green foliage. Growth habit is upright; mechanical support is unnecessary. Derived from the original field sowing of more than 50 individuals, 19 seedlings were selected for further monitoring in 2021. This seedling attracted attention with its more compact growth, higher resistance to botrytis, and the interesting greenish color of the flower. The leaves are stiff and leathery, similar to the leaves of P. mascula, with a slightly bluish tinge. Stems and petioles are dark purple at time of blooming. Larger veins and the edge of the leaf also exhibit this purple tinge. The plant was selected among the seedlings by participants of the Fourth Czech International Rock Garden Conference on May 9th, 2023; The conference participants also selected the name for the cultivar.
