Parentage: ‘Charlie’s White’ open pollinated. Late blooming intermediary BOMB flowers are primarily white and creamy in color at center, with a lesser degree of pink coloration appearing in the flower interior. Flowers are 18 cm (7”) in diameter, upward facing, and average two to four per stem. Guard petals are ruffled, rounded, and cupped. Fragrance noted. Stamens, pollen and seeds. Plants carry green foliage that is edged with red upon emergence. Plants reach 90-110 cm (35.5-43”) in height at maturity. Growth habit is spreading,, and does benefit from mechanical support. A tender, fluffy flower, with classic peony fragrance that is not overpowering. The name means “bird’s milk”, and is also the name of a dessert: a fluffy, soft milky soufflé that is covered with chocolate.
