Back to RegistrySeedling number TP2 29-81. Parentage: Simmons #116 x Simmons #32-148 (‘The Mackinac Grand’ x “m.s.b.”). First bloomed 2013, first propagated 2019. Mid-late season blooming DOUBLE flowers are dark pink, 15-16 cm (6-6.3”) in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. Guard petals are flat, rounded, and are typically 6 cm (2.4”) in width. No fragrance. Two very small, pale-green carpels carry pale-white stigmas of normal anatomy. Stamens are between 1.25-2 cm (0.5-0.75”) in length. Filaments are uniformly light-yellow in color. Produces pollen; seed fertility has not been noted. Leaflets are broad-pointed, and green in color. Foliage at the time of emergence is red. Plants reach 80 cm (31.5”) at maturity. Growth habit is upright; mechanical support is generally unnecessary. A color shade common to lactiflora peonies, but not herbaceous hybrids, the cultivar was selected to fill out the color range of these earlier-blooming peonies. The bush is vigorous and healthy.
