Seedling number: UHS 121. Parentage unknown. First bloomed 2015, first propagated 2015. Early blooming DOUBLE flowers are burgundy, 14 cm (5.5”) in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. Guard petals are cupped, rounded, ruffled, and are typically 4.5 cm (1.75”) in width. Fragrant. No carpels. Stamens are less than 1.25 cm (0.5”) in length, with pink filaments that transition to yellow at the tips. Produces pollen; no seed fertility. Linear staminodes are identical in color to the surrounding petalage. Disk is obscure. Leaflets are broad-pointed, and green in color. Plants reach 61 cm (24”) at maturity. Growth habit is upright; mechanical support is unnecessary.
