Peony Registry

Seedling number: UHS 123. Parentage unknown. First bloomed 2015, first propagated 2015. Early blooming DOUBLE flowers are pink, 14 cm (5.5”) in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. Guard petals are cupped, rounded, ruffled, and are typically 3.8 cm (1.5”) in width. Fragrant. No carpels. Stamens are less than 1.25 cm (0.5”) in length, with filaments that are uniformly yellow in color. Produces pollen; no seed fertility. Linear and oblanceolate staminodes are identical in color to the surrounding petalage. Disk is obscure. Leaflets are broad-pointed, and green in color. Plants reach 61 cm (24”) at maturity. Growth habit is upright; mechanical support is unnecessary.
