Seedling number AT#7. Parentage: ‘Aussie Peach’ x Seidl #240. First bloomed 2014, first propagated 2017. Previously distributed under the name “Sunrise Glow”. Early blooming SINGLE flowers are yellow overlaid by red, are 13.5 cm (5″) in diameter, outward facing (occasionally hidden), and average one to two per stem. Red flares with blurred edges radiate from flower center and transcend approximately 20% of overall petal length. No fragrance noted. Guard petals are cupped, rounded, slightly notched, and are typically 6.35 cm (2.5”) in width. On average, flowers possess four sparsely hairy, light yellow-green carpels. Stigmas are red, and of normal anatomy. Filaments are purple, transitioning to yellow at their tips. Produces pollen; seed fertility has not been noted. Sheath is partial, and purple-red in color. Plants reach about 122 cm (48″) at maturity, and carry broadly cut, green foliage with a purple margin. Foliage on emergence is purple in color. The cultivar exhibits flowers of two distinct colors, some pink, and others orange. Red/maroon flares draw the eye to the center of the flowers which are held nicely above the foliage. Grown from seed received from Bill Seidl.
