Peony Registry

Parentage unknown. Midseason blooming SINGLE flowers are primarily white, overlaid with pink striations and a slight hint of green (chartreuse) green coloration at petal base. Flowers are 12.7cm (5”) in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. Guard petals are ruffled, twisted, and are typically 2.5cm (1”) in width. No fragrance noted. On average, flowers possess three carpels that are light green in color with cream-colored stigmas of normal anatomy. Stamens are between 1.5-2cm (0.5-0.75”) in length. Produces both pollen and seeds. Plants carry broad-pointed, green foliage, and reach 76cm (30”) in height at maturity. Growth habit is upright; mechanical support is unnecessary. Similar to ‘Green Lotus’ in appearance, but more pink in color and with wider petals. The petals quickly unfurl to create an unusual bloom with the frilly-edged petals twisting and turning in different directions. A fun peony to have in the garden, the name is descriptive of its nature. 102523
