Dark purple flares with a clean, sharp edge radiate from flower center, and transcend approximately 20% of petal length. Guard petals are flat, and typically 9cm (3.5”) in width. Fragrant. On average, flowers possess five green carpels with yellow stigmas of normal anatomy. Stamens are more than 2cm (0.75”) in length, with yellow-green filaments and anthers that exhibit a slight purple coloration at their bases. Produces both pollen and seeds. Sheath is partial, and yellow in color. Plants carry green foliage with an upright habit. Selected in conjunction with Martin Lemon; from a group of seedlings grown from seeds of plants obtained from the Heze Peony Company, China. “Trojan” is a reference to the district where the Prague Botanical Garden is located.
