Back to RegistrySeedling #10. Parentage: “Fenchi Dizhi” x “Hongyan Zhenghui”. First bloomed 2012, first propagated 2014. Mid-late season blooming SEMI-DOUBLE flowers are pink, 12.5cm (4.92”) in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. No fragrance noted. Guard petals are rounded and notched, and average 4.7cm (1.85”) in width. On average, flowers present five sparsely hairy, yellow carpels with pink, feathered stigmas. Stamens are more than 2cm (0.75”); filaments are yellow with yellow tips and anthers. Pink staminodal disk is apparent with few projections. Fertile both ways. Plants reach 62cm (24.5”) at maturity, and carry narrow-cut, green foliage. Foliage color at time of emergence is reddish-green. Growth habit is upright, and mechanical support is unnecessary. Named for Yangzhou University (“Yang”), and with reference to a series mainly utilized for garden viewing and landscaping (“Long”). “Yanran” represents that when the flowers bloom, the color of the petals is like rouge, and the flowers are like a carefully dressed shy girl dancing gracefully in the wind.
