Early blooming SEMI-DOUBLE flowers are pink, fading to light pink at petal margins, 12.7 cm (5”) in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. Guard petals are cupped, and are typically 4 cm (1.6”) in width. Strong purplish-red flares emanate from flower center and transcend approximately 42% of total petal length. Fragrance noted. Nine moderately hairy, olive-green carpels carry dark-red stigmas of normal anatomy. Stamens are between 1.25-2 cm (0.5-0.75”) in length. Filaments are vivid purplish-pink transitioning to light purple at the tips. Easily fertile both ways. Sheath is complete, and a moderate purplish-red color. Plants reach about 42 cm (16.5”) at maturity, and carry narrow-pointed, yellow-green foliage with purple margins. Foliage at the time of emergence is dark purplish-red. Growth habit is upright. Grafts easily, and stems are hardy; not easily damaged by wind.
