Seedling No. 28. Parentage: ‘Edulis Superba’ x ‘President Taft’. First bloomed 1983, first propagated 2001. Late blooming DOUBLE flowers are light pink (RHS 49-D) fading to white with many closely-set petals, and rounded guard petals about 4-6cm (1.5-2.4”) in width. Flowers are 16-18cm (6.3-7”) in diameter, upward facing, with a high-built 7.5cm (3”) silhouette, and average two to three per stem. Emits a pleasant fragrance. Carpels and stamens absent (fully transformed). Does not produce pollen or seeds. Staminodal disk obscured. Plants reach 75-85cm (29.5-33.5”) at maturity, and carry broad, pointed, green foliage. Growth habit is upright, and strong stems seldom require mechanical support. Flower blooms slowly – in the half-open buds, the petals are pastel, later becoming pale pink. Entered into the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine in 2020.
