CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) NOTICE – Now that the novel coronavirus has been declared an international pandemic, the American Peony Society has made the difficult decision to cancel the Annual Convention scheduled for June 11 – 14, 2020, at the Chicago Botanic Garden. Out of an abundance of caution and concern for our members worldwide, we are following the recommendations from the World Health Organization in an effort to keep everyone healthy and safe. The Board of Directors is working on alternate plans and will post updates here and on social media to keep our membership apprised.
Members who have already registered for the 2020 convention will receive a refund of their registration fees. We are also working with Embassy Suites to cancel members’ room reservations. Thanks in advance for your patience and support during this time.
Lodging accommodations are available through the Embassy Suites by Hilton Chicago North Shore Deerfield, 1445 Lake Cook Road, Deerfield Illinios 60015. Telephone: (847) 945-4500. Use the above link or phone number to make reservations. Identify yourself as an American Peony Society Member and provide the Group Code APA to receive a special rate for your stay. Rate are good for June 11-14. Make reservations as soon as possible, as there is a limited block of rooms available at special pricing.
The American Peony Society is pleased to announce the 2020 Convention, Flower Show and Exhibition. This year’s convention is hosted by the fabulous Chicago Botanic Garden. Seminars, workshops, banquet and live auction are features of this fun packed peony adventure, that will surely satisfy your cravings for our favorite plant. The Chicago Botanic Garden cover 300+ acres and is recognized as one of the world’s premier plant centers. Weather dependent, peonies may still be in bloom during the convention. Their collection numbers more than 1800 cultivars and will surely be of interest to peony aficionados. CBG has an extensive website and much information about peonies. To register for the convention, you must be an American Peony Society member. Attendance cost is $195.00 (US) per member attendee. Included in features are: Welcome Dinner, Seminars, Saturday Banquet and Auction and Entrance to the Chicago Botanic Garden. The flower show and seminars are open to the public and available to anyone visiting the Chicago Botanical Garden during the period.
The convention will begin for peony flower exhibitors on June 11. Judging will be held on Friday June 12 and the flower show will be open to the public on Saturday morning June 13 and Sunday June 14.

Peony Flower Exhibition & Show-CANCELLED
Bernstein Hall at the beautiful Chicago Botanic Gardens will be the venue for this year’s Flower Show and Exhibition. Bernstein Hall is part of the Regenstein Center, a complex of classrooms, auditoriums and other rooms located 6 minutes from the parking lots. Included in the APS show schedule is valuable entry information for Cut Flower exhibition, Artistic Design and Photography. Join in the fun and enjoy the camaraderie showing peony flowers in unique ways.

Members attending the annual APS Convention have a chance to acquire often rare, unique peonies or related items during the auction. The auction serves as an important fund raiser for the many functions, programs and publications APS generates. Join in the fun by donating or participating in this highlight of the annual convention. Auction lists distributed during this function are not available prior to the event.
