Double. Sport from Souvenir de Maxime Cornu. Pure sulphur yellow.

Note:  ‘Chromatella’ presents numerous difficulties in both commerce and plant characteristics.   It is a genetic mutation of Souvenir de Maxime Cornu (which the image appears to be most like).  Lutea hybrids which are mutations often revert to their original cultivar’s characteristics, but they also exhibit a wide range of color variation due to climate conditions of the  year they bloom.   Since this is a very old entry the description was not likely supplied by the originator (Lemoine 1928) and was taken from another commercial entity’s catalog, which is problematic for accuracy as well.  ‘Chromatella’ is inconsistent for color and form.  Sometimes it will bloom completely yellow and other times with much red/rose infusion like the image in the database.  Additionally it often blooms in a variety of forms:  double, semi-double and even single.
