Peony Registry

Seedling number RAHS52. Parentage unknown. First bloomed 2016, first propagated 2016. Early-midseason blooming BOMB flowers are raspberry red, 14cm (5.5″) in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. Guard petals are cupped, rounded, lightly ruffled and notched, and average 5cm (2″) in width. Subtle fragrance noted. Flowers on average possess three green carpels with white stigmas of normal anatomy. Stamens are completely transformed to petalodes, identical in color to outer petallage. No pollen, seed fertility has not been noted. Disc is obscure. Plants reach 71cm (28″) at maturity, and carry broad-pointed, green foliage. Growth habit is upright, and mechanical support is unnecessary.
