Seedling V-259. Parentage: ‘Quitzin’ x ‘Nilitz’. Mideason flowering, advanced generation herbaceous hybrid with a strikingly unusual combination of displayed features. Medium-sized (5 ½ inch (14 cm)) semi-double to double yellow flowers are held well above the bush which itself offers a contrast to the airiness of the flowers by presenting a mass of surprisingly round and small leaflets. All but the uppermost parts of the stems are cloaked within the extraordinary profusion of foliage, which quite literally goes all the way to the ground, so as to create the impression of a dense, rounded, utterly impenetrable mound. The neat double flowers held high above all of this have a light yellow flower-in-flower structure with 2 inch, slightly notched, flat guards. Buds have greenish tint. 2 inch spatulate petalodes. Less fully developed flowers have ¾ inch yellow filaments. Poorly developed, almost white carpels with faintly pink stigmas. No seed fertility yet noticed. Slight fragrance. Height to 31 inches (80 cm).
