Petals have a cream-colored base washed with pink (RHS:68A), more strongly pigmented along the veins and at petal edges (RHS:49A). One flower per stem, size 5½ inches (13.6 cm) with up-facing display. Petals are lightly notched, 2¼ inches (5 cm) in width, and gently ruffled. Black flares extend about 30% of petal length, edges bleeding red into petal’s pink. Carpels, average of 4, light green (RHS:138D) and smooth. Stigmas pink (RHS:52B). Pollen-bearing stamens. Filaments purplish red (RHS:N79C), becoming yellow at the tips (RHS:12A). Strong fragrance. No seeds. Partial purplish-red sheath (RHS:57A). Early foliage emerges red. Somewhat spreading growth, height to 32 inches (80 cm), support not needed. Drought and cold resistance when established. Abundant flowers.
