Seedling 2003-47. Parentage unknown. First year bloomed 2003, first propagated 2003. JAPANESE. Blush pink fading to white. Staminodes pale yellow, edged darker yellow. Stigmas red. One or two flowers per stem, 18 cm. diameter (7 inches). No fragrance. Height to 80 cm (32 inches), with a spreading growth habit. Midseason bloom. The Rheingold is a hoard of gold in the depths of the Rhine River watched over by the three Rhinemaidens.
