Seedling number 16-99-1. Parentage not given. First bloomed 2012, first propagated 2014. Early blooming SEMI-DOUBLE to DOUBLE flowers are pink, star-shaped, 17cm (6.7”) in diameter, upward facing, and average two per stem. Occasional staminodes may be cream-white with yellow edging. Guard petals are frilled. Lovely citrus fragrance. Flowers possess on average three moderately hairy, green carpels with pink stigmas of normal anatomy. Stamens are more than 2cm (0.75”) in length. Fertile both ways. Plants reach 75cm (29.5”) at maturity, and carry broadly pointed, green foliage with undertones of purple. Foliage at time of emergence is red and green. Growth habit is upright; mechanical support is unnecessary. Presents good potential for cut-flower production, and is a lovely garden plant. Named for the Charities, three goddesses in Greek mythology who embodied charm, beauty, nature, human creativity, and fertility.
