Seedling Number 40-1 Parentage: ‘Qing Tian Lan’ x ‘Huo Lian Jin Dan’. First bloomed 2022, first propagated 2023. Midseason to Mid-Late blooming BOMB flowers are pink (RHS 63C), 12cm (4.75″) in diameter, upward facing, and average one per stem. Fragrance noted. Guard petals are rounded, and average 3cm (1.2″) in width. Flowers possess four to five sparsely hairy, yellow-green carpels (150C) with light yellow-green stigmas (154D) of normal anatomy. No stamens or pollen, however seed fertility has been noted. Spatulate staminodes present, light-reddish purple in color (N74C) Disc is well-developed and complete, Reddish-purple in color (N74C). Plants reach 75cm (29.5″) at maturity, and carry narrow-pointed, yellow-green foliage. Growth habit is upright, and mechanical support is unnecessary. The charming and attractive attributes of this cultivar were suggestive of the name, taken from classical Chinese song lyrics.
